Our Story

The origin story begins at the corner of Coleman & Peck Street in Chippewa Falls, where Tony grew up. Little did Tony know that years later, this same intersection would play an even more significant role in his life.

Fast forward years later to one evening at the Sheeley House in Chippewa Falls, Tony met Kevin while out with mutual friends. As they got to know each other, Tony was astonished to learn that Kevin lived in the only other house on the corner of Coleman and Peck—the very intersection where Tony had spent his childhood and teen years. This serendipitous connection felt like a sign, and before long, Tony moved into Kevin’s home and they began their lives together.

In February 2020, Tony surprised Kevin with a wedding in the Dominican Republic, a beautiful moment they shared with many friends and family. However, upon returning, they, like the rest of the world, faced the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. With the nation in lockdown and an abundance of spare time, Tony finally embarked on a longtime goal: learning to make soap.

What started as a simple hobby quickly grew into something much more. From their home on the corner of Coleman & Peck, Ope! It’s Soap was born. The name itself is a nod to their Midwestern roots and starting Ope! It’s Soap has been a fun and rewarding adventure. As their business grew, Tony realized the need for a brand that could evolve with them and continue to tell their story in new ways.

That’s why they're excited to introduce their new brand, Coleman & Peck, a name that ties directly to both Tony’s childhood and Tony and Kevin’s adult lives in many meaningful ways. Coleman & Peck represents not just a place, but the journey they’ve taken together, the community they’ve built, and the future they’re creating.

But don’t worry—Ope! It’s Soap isn’t going anywhere! It will continue as an important and fun line of soap products within the Coleman & Peck brand, carrying forward the spirit of creativity and joy that started it all.
